Inquiry framework / From first note to agreed scope
The relevant equipment, document and handoff images now sit in the first viewport and primary inquiry steps. Use this framework to prepare the information behind them.
The first-view images establish the complete equipment relationship, current document state and intended handoff condition. In the inquiry, identify the mounting points, customer datums, open interfaces and protection requirements that correspond to those visible states. This lets the first response separate a missing source from a genuine access, sequence or scope conflict.
Exchanger type, current design stage, available drawings or models, requested materials, quantity, target date, customer-controlled interfaces and governing project requirements.
Name the current revision and identify preliminary information. That lets us ask for the next useful file without treating an early concept as a released manufacturing basis.
We identify missing information, access conflicts, datum questions, sequence dependencies, scope boundaries and decisions that need customer approval before detail progresses.
Questions are tied to the relevant drawing or interface and include the practical manufacturing reason, so the response can be reviewed by the correct owner.
Agree the affected drawing or interface, the proposed manufacturing change, what remains customer-owned and which fabrication detail carries the accepted answer downstream.
Keep approvals visible in the document exchange. Informal discussion should not become the only record for a geometry, scope or delivery-state decision.
The quotation states the agreed manufacturing scope, assumptions, exclusions, delivery state and selected records. Drawings continue by email because this form does not accept uploads.
Use the same project summary in the email subject and body so the drawing package can be matched to the inquiry without exposing files through an unverified upload flow.
After the first message, keep the inquiry identifier, email subject and drawing revision aligned as the package develops. When a later file replaces an earlier source, state what changed and which open questions it resolves. If the request adds an interface, record, third-party activity or different delivery condition, identify it as a scope change rather than hiding it inside an attachment. This gives both sides a clear basis for reviewing manufacturing consequences, commercial assumptions and the approvals still needed before fabrication detail can be released.
